 The Land of Giants

Deosai National Park is a breathtaking high-altitude plateau in the heart of Gilgit-Baltistanone of the most enchanting natural wonders of PakistanAs the land of giants for its vast  expanseit has been offering its visitors outstanding landscapes and an unbeatable feeling of serenity.As a nature loveradventure-seeker, or photographer, Deosai will promise memories to be recalled for the rest of one's life. The journey begins when you set off to Deosai. The journey takes you  through the hilly roads from small villagestaking an average of 2 to 3 hours. The ascent was cooling with the change in scene, and it shifted towards green plains with snow peaks in the backdrop. Deosai is located at an elevation of 4,114 meters or 13,497 feet, Deosai is the second-highest plateau in the world. Covering an area of more than 3,000 square kilometers, the park is a vast meadow, wildflowers, and pristine streams. The plains are covered with colorful blooms in spring and summer. The Deosai Plains are also known as the "Roof of the Earth" and the "Land of Giants".


 

Highlights of Deosai National Park

1. Sheosar Lake

One of the major attractions in this park is Sheosar Lake, a crystal-clear alpine lake framed by rolling hills and snow-capped mountains. The calm waters of its reflection create a magical scene from which no visitor leaves in awe, hence, a walk around the lake is a must for anyone visiting Deosai.

2. Wildlife Encounters

Deosai is a sanctuary for rare and endangered species. The Himalayan brown bear, which is also a symbol of the park, can mostly be seen roaming the plains. Marmots, wolves, and other species of birds are abundant in the park, making it a paradise for wildlife lovers.


3. Starry Nights

Being far away from city lights, Deosai offers some of the clearest night skies in the world. The plateau transforms into a celestial wonderland at night, with thousands of stars twinkling above. Stargazing here is an experience that stays with you forever. The best time to visit would be between June and September, as the weather during this period is pleasant, while the park is accessible and the wildflowers are full bloom with active wildlife.
